Notes from Guatemala

Everett Sawin
June 25-July 1, 2003

Day 1 - We flew to Dallas, then Guatemala City. We got to the hotel, and ate. The food was good but you couldn't drink the water.

Day 2 - We flew to to Tikal and it was like a different world. The rain forest was huge. We camped outside and it was hot. Just sitting in the tent for 5 minutes, you would be drenched in sweat, not to mention the millions of bugs. The ruins were huge.

Day 3 - We saw and climbed the ruins again. For lunch we ate our MRE's.

Day 4 - We ate breakfast and left. We stayed at a hotel in Flores. We went swimming and saw coold animals like monkeys and leopards. We ate dinner with the Guatemalan Scouts.

Day 5 - We left Flores and flew to Guatemala City, then took a bus to Antigua and went shopping and ate.

Day 6 - We went stopping all day in Antigua. We bought knives and blankets.

Day 7 - We headed home after eating the best pancakes ever.
