Frequently Asked Questions - Microsoft FrontPage
Microsoft
FrontPage 2000 is a quick, effective way to create and manage
professional-quality Internet or intranet sites without programming.
FrontPage makes it easy for new users and professional
Web developers alike to build and maintain great-looking, professional-quality
websites quickly.
2. Do I have
to use FrontPage?
No. You
can use a simple text editor, or another type of HTML editor.
3. Do I have
to pay for FrontPage extensions to use FrontPage?
No. You can use the Microsoft
Web Publishing Wizard to warn you when you are using
functions not supported on INAMART's server without extensions.
Microsoft says...
Install the wizard to post your Web pages to a Web server on
which the FrontPage Server Extensions have not been installed.
The wizard warns you if any of the pages that you want
to post contain features that require the FrontPage Server Extensions.
You can use the FrontPage Web Publishing Wizard to post an entire
Web or just the pages that have changed since the last time
you posted your Web. After installation, choose "FrontPage
Web Publishing Wizard" from your Microsoft FrontPage programs
list.
Note about FrontPage: If your server is equipped already with
FrontPage Server Extensions, it is not necessary to use the
FrontPage Web Publishing Wizard to post your Web pages to your
server. Simply use the File/Copy Web command in the FrontPage
Explorer and your information will be copied automatically to
your hosting server.
4. Do you
support all of the features of FrontPage 2000?
Yes.
Some of the features that FrontPage 2000 uses require Microsoft's
Internet Information Server (IIS) in order to operate correctly.
The following features are only available with our
NT hosting plan. These include:
- ODBC Connectivity with Access Databases
- ASP
- Creating Web Permissions
