Facilities Expansion
As a part of its next generation telecommunications strategy, US
Net is undertaking a major transformation of its facilities,
including completion of two new regional headquarters, two new Network
Operations Centers, deployment of a national backbone and various
upgrades and redeployments of colocation and major switch facilities
around the country. US Net launched an aggressive
facilities upgrade and expansion plan in the fourth quarter of 2000. When
the plan is fully deployed in the fourth quarter of 2001, US
Net will have upgraded its facilities to include the best in
network technology, carrier class data centers and a national optical
backbone.
US Net has recently moved into two new Network Operations
Centers - one in Vancouver, Washington and the other in Cincinnati,
Ohio and has recently completed the build-out of a new Central Office
(major switch facility) and data center (customer server
colocation facility) in Portland, Oregon.
